Greenlife Agribusiness LTD – 2025 Impact Report

Greenlife Agribusiness LTD

Operational Highlights – 2025
Executive Summary

In 2025, Greenlife Agribusiness Ltd advanced its mission to strengthen sustainable agrifood systems, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience across Somalia. The year focused on scaling climate-smart production infrastructure, expanding urban and institutional greening, deepening cooperative-led agricultural development, and launching resilience-oriented programs addressing climate shocks.

Through integrated investments in greenhouse production, efficient irrigation, agro-input supply, landscaping services, training and capacity building, and strategic partnerships, Greenlife delivered practical, community-centered solutions while strengthening long-term resilience and institutional trust.

Agrifood & Production Systems

In 2025, Greenlife Agribusiness Ltd concentrated its core operations on the expansion of climate-smart agricultural infrastructure and sustainable production systems. During the year, the company constructed more than 100 greenhouse units across multiple locations in Somalia. These installations enabled improved crop management, enhanced productivity, and increased resilience to climate variability.

To promote efficient water use and sustainable irrigation practices, Greenlife installed drip irrigation systems covering over 70 hectares of agricultural land. These systems supported both smallholder and commercial producers by reducing water losses, optimizing input use, and improving overall farm performance.

At Greenlife’s own production sites, annual vegetable output reached 128 metric tones, primarily cucumber and sweet pepper, demonstrating the effectiveness of controlled-environment greenhouse systems in delivering consistent yields and high-quality produce.

In parallel, Greenlife strengthened its agro-input supply services, reaching more than 500 customers with quality seeds, fertilizers, irrigation materials, and technical guidance, contributing to improved production outcomes and farmer confidence.

To address climate risks affecting pastoral and agro-pastoral livelihoods, Greenlife launched GEEDIGA CAGAARAN, a climate-resilience initiative focused on fodder production. Under this initiative, 20 hectares of land were planted with fodder crops, providing alternative feed sources during rainfall failure, drought, and climate shocks, and contributing to the protection of livestock assets across vulnerable communities.

Landscaping & Environmental Greening Services

Greenlife continued to play a leading role in environmental landscaping and urban greening throughout 2025, delivering both large-scale and institutional projects.

Major landscaping interventions implemented during the year included:

  • Jazeera Aqua Park, covering approximately 300 × 200 square meters
  • Harsan Garden, covering approximately 100 × 100 square meters
  • Beerta Ummada, located near Aden Adde International Airport

Additionally, Greenlife provided landscaping and greening services for key public institutions and educational facilities, including:

  • Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation
  • Ministry of Interior
  • Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs & Reconciliation
  • Ummada University
  • Hormuud University

A flagship achievement in 2025 was the major landscaping project at Villa Somalia (State House), where Greenlife provided high-class professional landscaping services befitting a national institution. This project demonstrated the company’s technical capacity, reliability, and ability to operate at the highest institutional standards.

The company also undertook numerous residential and private-sector greening projects. These interventions contributed to improved urban environments, enhanced public spaces, and increased awareness of environmental sustainability.

Strategic Programs Launched

In 2025, Greenlife launched several strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening long-term capacity, knowledge transfer, and climate resilience:
